A little about me:

Me with Finn

Hi, I am Giles, a digital producer and designer with extensive experience in producing award-winning websites and mobile apps for broadcasters and cultural institutions across the globe.

I have a considerable background in delivering complex projects, with multiple stakeholders and global teams. This has been gained through working with some of the world’s leading brands and broadcasters, developing projects and content across the entertainment, travel and arts sectors.

The intersection of human interaction, visual design, technology and storytelling have always fascinated me, especially when they can be combined to bring concepts to life in new and compelling ways. I am passionate about delivering projects that work aesthetically, functionally and intuitively for the end user.

My goal, is always to forge deep, emotional connections by pushing narrative mediums.  I like to discover how new ideas emerge and develop processes that lead to the production of rich content.  This drive has led me to be the creator of multiple, award-winning productions.

The Cultural Sector

Since 2012, I have worked with some of the worlds’ most prestigious cultural institutions; as the Director of Design for Antenna International.  Antenna is the leading provider of innovative, artistic interpretation for the museum and heritage sector.

As Director of Design, I led Antenna’s design of mobile applications, websites and product ecosystems that underpin visitor interaction and engagement for clients as varied as TATE, Buckingham Palace, The Opera Garnier and The Vatican.

Television and the Internet

My professional career started in television. Firstly, as a production assistant for MTV UK in 1998.  Followed by stints as assistant producer for various independent production companies until 2001, when I joined SKY TV as an in-house Producer/Director. Whilst at SKY, I produced hundreds of hours of factual programming for its network.

In 2006, with the rise of internet-based content, I was invited to join SKY’s first New Media Team, as a Senior New Media Producer.  My remit was to develop narrative content and digital platforms to grow online engagement around SKY 1, the network’s flagship TV channel.

In 2008, I joined the BBC & Virgin Media co-owned cable network, UKTV as part of the leadership team that drove the network’s successful rebrand and subsequent launch of 10 channels. For UKTV, I was responsible for setting and delivering the commercial, editorial and strategic objectives for the online divisions of its entertainment portfolio: DAVE, WATCH, GOLD and ALIBI.
